1. The particles changed shapes frequently and bounced off one another.

2. One way to keep them from sticking is to stir the material so large particles can be prevented from forming and the other way is to heat up the cool down the material. This way also prevents large masses from forming.

1.Grains are small groups of atoms built around nucleation sites, and are found mainly in metals.  The perimeter of the grain is the grain boundary.  Controlling grain size and boundary forces, you can alter the yield strength of a material.

2.Czochralski process is the most common for  monocrystalline processing. It allows for large ingots of a semiconducting material to be produced at acceptable purity levels.

Blog Post 13

1. Post a brief description (and link) to a general overview of MALDI.
MALDI stands for Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization. The purpose of the MALDI is to analyze biomolecules such as DNA and Proteins.

2. Post an image (3D) of the following proteins: microcystin LR, collagen, and pick another one of your favorite

3. Post the size of each of these proteins in nanometers.
microcystin LR is about 7 nm.
Collagen is about 30 nm.
Green Fluorescent is about 400 nm.

4. Research and post a cool nano-application that involves proteins.
Nanosphere- Diagnostic testing using gold nano particles to detect low levels of proteins indicating particular diseases.

Intro to Invention Project

I will be working on this project alone. My idea for my nano project is something involving nano and eye glasses, specifically how glasses can maybe auto adjust to the wearers eye sight. Something like that.
